The NeuroSurgical Research Foundation (NRF) is pleased to announce that applications are now open for the 2025 Neurosurgical Research Grants.

Applications Now Open: NeuroSurgical Research Grants 2025

These grants aim to support groundbreaking research in neurosurgery, continuing the legacy of excellence established by Dr Trevor Dinning and Professor Donald Simpson in 1963.

About the NRF Neurosurgical Research Grants

The NRF is dedicated to promoting, fostering, and assisting research in all matters related to neurosurgery. By funding vital research, the Foundation plays a key role in advancing knowledge and improving treatment outcomes for neurological conditions.

The 2025 grant funding is available for clinical and basic science research, including consumables and treatment equipment, in three key categories:

1. General Neurosurgical Research Grants

  • Funding available: Up to $50,000

  • Application deadline: 1st June 2025

2. Equipment Grants

  • Funding available: Up to $50,000

  • Application deadline: 1st June 2025

3. Neuro Research Personnel Grants

  • Funding available: Up to $50,000 for research project staff

  • Application deadline: 1st May 2025

Research Focus Areas

The NRF is committed to supporting research in the following areas:

  • Head injury

  • Intracranial haemorrhage

  • Neurodegeneration

  • Spinal cord injury

  • Stroke

  • Brain tumours
