Glioblastoma Awareness Day 2023
Wednesday 19 July 2023
Help spread awareness and join the fight for a cure this GBM Awareness Day
Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM), also sometimes referred to as a grade IV astrocytoma, is the most common and aggressive type of primary malignant brain tumour in adults. #GBMDay is about spreading awareness, honouring those we have lost, and supporting research efforts to develop better treatments for our brain tumour warriors currently fighting and those who will be diagnosed in the future.
Did you know?
- GBM accounts for 45% of all malignant brain tumours.
- Survival rates have barely changed in the last 30 years with a median survival of just 14 months.
- GBM is incredibly difficult to treat as it is one of the most aggresive, complex and treatment-resistant cancers.
- Supporting research to advance GBM treatments is the only way we will improve outcomes for GBM patients.
