3 NRF Vacation Scholarships Awarded to Aspiring Young Researchers at the University of Adelaide
Over the summer, these exceptional recipients of our NRF Vacation Scholarships had the opportunity to work alongside leading researchers, gaining invaluable hands-on experience in groundbreaking neurosurgical research.
These scholarships not only provided a platform for academic growth but also inspired the next generation of trailblazing neuroscientists who are set to shape the future of medicine and science.
Characterising Age-related Brain Inflammation in Neurological Disease
Jack Hawke
“This study will characterise how brain inflammation changes with age – insights that are vital for understanding conditions like Parkinson’s disease and stroke, helping identify new treatment targets.”
SUPERVISOR: Associate Professor Lyndsey Collins-Praino, University of Adelaide.
Protecting the Brain After Stroke
Chantelle Patterson
“This project is essential in determining the efficacy of APP96-110 as a treatment for ischaemic stroke.”
