NRF Christmas High Tea and Book Launch

Celebrate the holiday season at the beautiful Ayers House with a delightful high tea. Indulge in delectable sweet and savoury treats as well as continuous sparkling wine, beer, wine, soft drink, juice, T Bar teas and freshly brewed coffee.

Alongside the festivities, we'll be launching the new book Donald Simpson – Neurosurgeon and Humanitarian, a biography honouring one of the NRF’s founders.

All proceeds from the event and book sales will fund the newly created Donald Simpson Neuroscience Scholarship, which will support a junior neuroscientist to advance their research skills.

Donald Simpson was a remarkable man and co-founder of the NeuroSurgical Research Foundation.

This biography, written by two former trainees, and later colleagues, tells the story of his family background and academic career in neurosurgery, from Adelaide to Oxford. It covers the many aspects of his life – from medical research and historical interests to working with disabled and sick children and his humanitarian activities. It also contains many contributions from people who knew him and many stories about him, some humorous, some surprising but always “Donaldesque”. The unique character of Donald Simpson, neurosurgeon and humanitarian, shines through.
