New Equipment Dedicated to Felicity Plew Unveiled at Brain Tumour Research Presentations
At the Brain Tumour Research presentations in May, we were proud to unveil a new piece of cutting-edge equipment dedicated to the memory of Felicity Plew, who tragically passed away. Felicity’s generous bequest has made it possible to acquire the Countess Automated Cell Counter, a vital tool that will enhance the pace and accuracy of brain tumour research.
Felicity’s family were present at the event and had the opportunity to view the new equipment, engage with the researchers who will be using it, and watch a live demonstration of its capabilities. The Countess machine automatically counts cancer cells in a sample within seconds, providing high-accuracy results that significantly improve the reproducibility of experiments. This innovation will save researchers valuable time, enabling them to focus on advancing critical brain tumour research.
Thanks to Felicity’s contribution, this equipment will play a pivotal role in accelerating progress towards understanding and ultimately finding treatments for brain tumours. We are deeply grateful for her lasting impact on this important work.
